Fragrance has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I remember sneaking into my moms room and spraying her perfume on myself – something I can still smell to this day. It did something to me I’d never experienced before – and I became captivated by the power of scent—the way it could transport us to another time, another place, with just one breath. If I got a wiff of that perfume today, it would still take me back to that exact bedroom where my mom’s perfume sat. That began a lifelong love affair with fragrance and the power that scent has to truly transport us back to certain moments.

It wasn’t until I had the opportunity to live in Europe for half a decade that I truly fell in love with the art of perfumery. During our travels, I found myself in Grasse, France—the world’s capital of fragrance—and something about that experience stayed with me. It was there, surrounded by the legacy of centuries-old craftsmanship, that the idea for our city-inspired perfume collection was born.

The city of Grasse holds a special place in the history of perfume making. Nestled in the French Riviera, its sun-soaked hills and sprawling fields of flowers have been home to the world’s most renowned perfumers for generations. For centuries, Grasse has perfected the delicate art of fragrance creation. It’s a place where tradition and innovation come together, and the expertise passed down through generations of perfumers is palpable in every drop of scent that leaves this historic town. You can feel the history as you walk through the cobblestone streets of the city, a place where fragrance isn’t just a hobby, it’s a way of life.

When it came time to create our own perfume collection, there was no question where we would begin— Grasse. The heritage of the region, aligns perfectly with the ethos of Wayfarer – and our vision to restore the lost art of slow travel. I’ve always believed in slow, intentional craftsmanship – where products tell stories and every detail is infused with a deeper meaning. Partnering with a centuries-old parfumerie in Grasse to create our fragrances was the natural choice, ensuring that our fragrances would not only embody the spirit of the cities that inspired them but also reflect the time-honored artistry that defines true heritage.
